About This Spot
Stepping into Damn Yankees Watering Hole, you’re welcomed by a sense of easygoing comfort that only a well-loved local bar and grill can offer. Nestled beside the gentle flow of the Wolf River just outside Hortonville, the setting carries a relaxed, rustic charm — part cozy log cabin warmth, part breezy riverside retreat. It’s the kind of place where the pace slows naturally, inviting you to settle in whether you’re dining inside the spacious, airy main room or outside on the patio, soaking in fresh air and soft river breezes.
The atmosphere feels unhurried and genuine, shaped by friendly faces behind the bar and tables shared among neighbors and travelers alike. This is a spot where there’s room to breathe and space to enjoy both lively moments and quiet conversations. You might catch the easy laughter of friends gathered over a round, or the pleasant clink of glasses marking the start of a relaxing evening. It’s a community anchor, defined as much by the warmth of its people as by its surroundings.
When it comes to food and drink, Damn Yankees strikes a satisfying balance between hearty comfort and approachable classics, all served without fuss but with care. There’s also a welcoming variety for those seeking lighter options or breakfast to start the day right. Drinks echo the laid-back vibe with simple pleasures like a well-crafted Bloody Mary, perfect with a little extra kick.

Damn Yankees is a rustic bar and grill situated on the banks of the Wolf River just outside of Hortonville. They serve breakfast in addition to bar and grill favorites. The Friday fish is quite good, and a trip to the salad bar is included. The place is open and airy inside. The outside has log cabin vibes and features plenty of patio seating. Everything is clean and the staff is friendly. Worth the drive, which is pretty damn scenic anyway.

Have been there several times for breakfast. Nice not being jammed into a small dining area. Wonderful having some shoulder space and breathing room. Absolutely amazing service, staff is friendly and courteous and the portions are large. Good price for everything all around.

This place is a hidden gem. I stopped in on the motorcycle with some friends and I cant wait to come back with my family for dinner and fishing from the dock. Update: finally made it in with one of the kids to have some burgers. The cheese curds were great and best I've had anywhere in a long time. Friendly staff. Not a bad place for some cheap but delicious eats.

Great place for pub fare and cheap beer. Very reasonable prices, fast service, good variety, and comfy atmosphere. My only small recommendation is that they reduce the amount of salt they use in their food. I love salty food, but the brat burger and cheese curds were VERY salty.

Pretty cool restaurant. Lots of options for sides. Had a bacon cheeseburger and the bacon was fantastic. Big and crisp. My wife had the crispy chicken wrap and enjoyed it as well.

Service was great, and so was the food! Didn’t wait long, and for once in a long time everyone in the family enjoyed their meal. Super fun atmosphere, pool, and tons of stuff to look at for the kids.
